I think the world of the stoic and Buddhist core values, but really a good therapist and some weed will have the same overall effect.

I feel a sense of calm when reading history and science far greater than anything ever felt in holy observance. The "why" is never ending. Humanity has only moved forward because the children of today have never run out of questions tomorrow. But society has always collapsed when asking why is suppressed.

The part about the arch of Constantine really is pretty odd.
If you read the wiki on Constantine it becomes clear that the versions of his life's story all disappear after his reign. All but the one Eusebius of Caesarea fictionalised. There are whole books on early church suppression of non Christian history.
Is it not odd that no Mithras traditions survived antiquity. They were a secretive cult, but not a single document from the educated roman elite or references from Seneca? Just saying.
Was the Garden of Eden the Hanging Gardens of Babylon?
Not a good match in the assyrian timeline, more likely a garden in ancient Beth Eden during the reign of Tiglath-Pileser III or Shalmaneser V. Fun thought just the same.

A hard rain is gonna fall - or not.
As I drove to Winn Dixie today I was in a real big down pour. A typical Florida sea breeze driven afternoon thunderstorm - not unusual for a Summer day.
It happened my iPod started playing Bob Dylan's ominous tome of social and political change coming to teach us a lesson.
It dawned on me that those changes never happened. Those rains never fell and they never will.
Bob was just another would-be prophet talking out his ass.
Shut up Bob! I changed the song.
